My afternoon post is dedicated to one of the GREATEST groups of all time... Wu Tang Clan. Inspired by the one and only Nechemya.
This summer I had the chance to see Red Man live at "Rock the Bells"(alongside other hip hop greats like The Pharycde, De la Soul and NAS. Unfortunately Method Man was too "hung over" to make the trip from NYC to Boston but hopefully I can catch them both when they come back through the New England area in December.
New Wu News: Method Man and Redman reunite to kick off their “Still High” tour today. The tour hits 27 cities all over the US so far. Their first album, 1999’s Blackout!, set the illustrious duo apart as one of the most innovative and exciting duos in hip hop history. Now Method Man & Redman are prepping for “Blackout 2” which is scheduled to be released in December.
I highlighted some key dates in the area below:
Dec 04 2008-8:00 pm Higher Ground Burlington, Vermont
Dec 05 2008-8:00 pm PALLADIUM WORCESTER, Massachusetts
Dec 09 2008-8:00 pm ALBUM RELEASE WORLDWIDE, New York
Dec 10 2008-8:00 pm TOADS PLACE New Haven, Connecticut
In other Wu Tang related news...
In November the documentary Wu: The Story of The Wu-Tang Clan premieres on the BET cable network. The feature is an authorized account of the nine-member group's rise from the Staten Island projects, and includes archival footage and interviews with the surviving members.
BET will air the documentary Nov. 13, five days before it is released on DVD. A soundtrack companion CD featuring Wu-Tang classics and solo material from Raekwon, Ol' Dirty Bastard, Ghostface Killah and Cappadonna will also hit the streets Nov. 18.
